Frequently asked questions
What is OPS orchestra management software?
OPS is an all-in-one orchestra management software platform covering every aspect of running an ensemble: a digital score library with OCR part extraction, member and contact management, instrument inventory with QR codes, double-entry accounting for associations, setlist and concert programme builder, and document management. One login, one platform — no more switching between tools.
Can OPS handle a large orchestra with 80+ members?
Yes. The Full plan supports up to 100 members and pupils, with unlimited scores and setlists. The member directory supports custom fields, hierarchical groups, and bulk CSV import, making it straightforward to onboard an ensemble of any size. Contact us for larger ensembles.
Does OPS replace our current spreadsheets?
Exactly. OPS is designed to replace the combination of spreadsheets, email chains and paper forms most orchestras still rely on. Member lists, instrument loans, score tracking, concert programmes and accounting entries are all managed in one place, with a full audit trail.
How does the orchestra score library work?
Upload any scanned score as a PDF and OPS automatically extracts each instrument part using OCR. You get individual PDFs per instrument that can be downloaded separately, shared via a public link, or synced directly to the OPS Scores iPad app for on-stage reading. Every exported document is stamped with an archive number and QR code for physical tracking.
Does OPS handle orchestra accounting?
Yes. OPS includes a full double-entry bookkeeping module following the Plan Comptable Général for French associations. It covers journal entries, invoicing, cheque tracking, bank reconciliation, budget management and FEC export — specifically designed for French music associations.
Is OPS suitable for amateur orchestras and wind bands?
Absolutely. OPS is used by amateur orchestras, wind bands, brass bands, and semi-professional ensembles. The free plan covers core features and is a great starting point. Paid plans add accounting, unlimited scores, and full school management.
Is there a mobile app for orchestra management?
Yes. OPS Mobile (iPhone) lets you manage members, scan QR codes on instruments, check inventory and review accounting on the go. OPS Scores (iPad) is a dedicated score reader with Apple Pencil annotations, offline access, and concert mode — synced automatically with your OPS library.
